Using Movie Maker is easier than it looks. Once you understand that you have a collection to create by adding digital assets such as: video, still images, and sounds, you are on your way to creating an original classroom video.
This "Hub" is designed to be a dabble class to encourage novice movie makers to turn these skills over to the students who will become "prosumers" of the content of their learning.
Supported file types(from the Microsoft Help files in Movie Maker) You can add content to your Windows Movie Maker project either by capturing content directly in Windows Movie Maker or by importing existing digital media files. The content you capture in Windows Movie Maker is saved in Windows Media Format. However, you can also import existing Windows Media-based content as well as other common file formats. You can import files with the following file name extensions into Windows Movie Maker to use in your project:
Using Movie Maker with DE Streaming editable clips:
Hubs_Using Movie Maker.ppsx (Presentation to share) Hurricanes.wmv (sample editable clip on Hurricanes)
Free online file conversion services Zamzar (will convert in reasonable time and emails you when the conversion is ready) Media Convert (creates an immediate downloadable file)
The Flip - a versatile camera - shoot any thing, share any thing with USB! MovieMaker tutorials (Mighty Coach)
If your computer doesn't have Movie Maker already loaded on it your can download it from this site.Note: Ask your tech contact to help you if you are unable to add programs and save the .exe file to your computer.

This manner of explanation is an attention getter and affords students the ability to be creative. A PhotoStory creation can be extremely simple and completed in under 10 minutes OR it can be a month long project paying particular attention to detail from the storyboarding to the editing sophisication buit into the program. PhotoStory makes its easy to produce original works allowing us to stay copyright free. Be sure and share your productions.
